🏡 Where I Used Them:
I installed them across the pergola roof over the deck right outside our kitchen, which we had already put a lot of effort into making a cozy little retreat. But the lights? They were the missing piece. Now, when you step out there in the evening, it feels like you’ve just entered an winery or cozy outdoor dining tucked away in a cute town. There’s a soft, golden ambiance that sets the perfect tone for everything — dinner with friends, late-night hangouts, or just me and Jess unwinding on a Friday evening, with a drink while Maycee (our dog) supervises.
🛠️ Installation Experience:

They’re designed to hook securely to the string light cord without damaging anything, and they held up beautifully during a couple of storms already. No sagging, no slipping, no fiddling. I’m VERY happy with them. The light string itself has a place to screw or attach the lights, but after doing some research I liked the clip idea better since it will allow for adjustments if the lights do sag over time. I’m not into having to continually remove and re-screw into our new pergola. As for the install, I would recommend starting from the mid point of where you want to hang to lights and working your way out to the edges, which worked out perfectly.
To power the lights I ran a Amazon Basics Extension Cord, 10 Ft, 3 Prong Outlet Extender, Indoor Extension Cord, 13 Amps, 125V, White behind the corner siding, which is why I got white even though the LED light string is black. I then plugged it into the Amazon Basics Outdoor Smart Plug with 2 Individually Controlled Outlets, Works with Alexa Only, 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, No Hub Required, Black which allows me to control the LED lights with Alexa by voice or as part of a routine.
🔍 Build Quality & Light Output:
The build quality is excellent. The cord is thick and durable, and the sockets feel snug and weather-resistant. The bulbs themselves have that classic filament style, but with the energy-saving benefits of LED. So you get the vintage look without the heat, fragility, or power draw.
The light output is perfect — not blinding, not too dim. It’s a warm 2200K glow that gives off cozy, romantic vibes. They’re not dimmable unless you add a special dimmer setup, which is the only real “miss” for me, but honestly… they’re already at that just right level, so I’ve never felt the need. I have seen reviews where dimming these lights might not even be an option, just a heads up.
🌦️ Weather Performance:
We’ve had a few heavy rains and a couple high-wind days since putting them up, and I was watching nervously the first time. But they’ve stayed completely solid — no water intrusion, no loose bulbs, and no flickering. They seem to be built for long-term outdoor use, however in our setup they are partially covered by the pergola roof system so they are not directly exposed to elements. We’ll see how they hold up when I eventually run a few sets around our fire pit.

These Feit lights seriously elevated the whole backyard setup. What started as a basic pergola turned into a laid-back escape that now feels like a vacation spot. Whether it’s for entertaining friends or just enjoying a night under the stars, they’ve become the unofficial MVP of the backyard.
